Rooms shaped by landform and light.

Paul's early years near the dunes of Cape Cod, Alaska's Chugach foothills, and the beaches of Biloxi shaped an enduring attention to horizon and light.

That attention carries through an architecture practice founded in 2005 and based in the ski town of Stowe.

A 2011 retreat at Spruce Peak, shaped by the great Adirondack camps and designed around a sense of repose.

A mountain retreat.

The HGTV Dream Home at Spruce Peak is a 3,000-square-foot house with four bedrooms and five and a half bathrooms. The official project story describes a ski house conceived more broadly as a lodge for repose and relaxation.
